Facilitación de la creación de capacidad con asistencia tecnológica y transferencia de tecnología para la vigilancia y la gestión del mercurio en África Central

The project will launch a regional mercury monitoring hub through the establishment of a central laboratory in Gabon for mercury analyses and other environmental assessments. Through this project, mercury data specific for the Central Africa Region will be collected and used for mercury management policy development. In addition, by filling a key gap in the global dataset, the project will contribute to global mercury assessments. Focal Points from Sao Tome and Principe, Equatorial Guinea, Republic of the Congo and Cameroon will collaborate with Gabon to consolidate expertise within the Central Africa Region and to provide a forum for communication, networking and collaboration of laboratory personnel, relevant field personnel responsible for sample collection, and policymakers.
