Lake Baringo Community-based Integrated Land and Water Management Project

The overall objective of the project is to conserve acquisition and terrestial biodiversity of globally significance in lake Baringo. The project will specifically focus on: a) strengthening capacity of the communities in sustainable land management by introducing resource use techniques for water, pasture and cultivated land that will minimize resource deterioration; b) extending conservation benefits to biologically important community controlled land and slow down the environmentally negative ongoing land use patterns by increasing the capacity of local authorities to promote and support community based conservation enterprises; and c) ensuring the long term continuation of these conservation benefits.
