Renforcement du cadre juridique et des capacités institutionnelles des pays de la CEDEAO (Sénégal, Togo et Burkina Faso) pour la mise en œuvre des articles 3 et 4 de la Convention de Minamata

The project builds on the findings of the Minamata Initial Assessments (MIAs) and National Action Plans (NAPs) undertaken by Senegal, Togo and Burkina Faso, which indicate the need for strengthening legal frameworks and institutional capacities for managing the trade of elemental mercury and mercury-added products. Senegal, Togo and Burkina Faso will work together with the Basel and Stockholm Convention Regional Center and relevant West African regional economic integration organizations to advance implementation of Articles 3 and 4 of the Minamata Convention through development of strategic approaches at the national and regional levels and a standard model for mercury and mercury-added products trade regulation for official adoption by each of the three Parties.
