Projet de renforcement des capacités dans la mise en œuvre de la Convention de Minamata en Équateur

The project will support the identification of significant sources of emissions and releases of mercury, analyze mercury concentrations in water, air, soil, and sediments, and assess optimization of relevant existing processes, technologies and infrastructures available in Ecuador. These activities will lead to the development of an action plan that includes management strategies and proposals to strengthen the legal framework for the implementation of effective control measures and tools through inter-institutional or sectorial coordination and cooperation.

The overall objective of this project is to strengthen the country’s capacity to control national emissions and releases of mercury and contribute to identification of priority actions to address emissions and releases under the Minamata Convention.
