The 17th International Conference on Mercury as a Global Pollutant (ICMGP) opened in Hyderabad, India, on 4 October 2026, the first held in India since its inaugural meeting in Sweden in 1990.

Over 180 partners and stakeholders attended the Global Environment Facility-funded planetGOLD programme’s Global Forum on Artisanal and Small-scale Gold Mining to advance practical action.
