Enabling the Republic of Türkiye to Prepare Its First Biennial Transparency Report (BTR1) and the Joint Ninth National Communication and Second Biennial Transparency Report (NC9/BTR2) to the UNFCCC

1. This project is prepared in line with the Pillar II (Foster enabling conditions to mainstream mitigation concerns into sustainable development strategies) and objective 2.1 (Support capacity-building needs for transparency under the Paris Agreement through the CBIT) of GEF-8 Climate Change Focal Area Strategy and Associated Programming . The objective and goal of the project are as the following:<br>

The immediate objective of the project is to assist the Republic of Türkiye (hereafter Türkiye) in the preparation and submission of First Biennial Transparency Report (BTR1) and the Joint Ninth National Communication and Second Biennial Transparency Report (NC9/BTR2) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).<br>
3. The goal of the project is to assist the country in mainstreaming and integration of climate change consideration into national and sectoral development policies by giving continuity to the institutional and technical capacity strengthening process, partly initiated, and sustained by the preparation of National Communications, National Inventory Report, and Biennial Transparency Reports on Climate Change.
