1.Assessment of Capacity Building Needs. a)Evaluate the capacities and define the country specific priorities regarding the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity. b)Identify and evaluate the institutional, human, and regulatory capacities that actually exist in the country, regarding access to benefits from the use of genetic resources. c)Identify the regulatory and institutional mechanisms that preserve and maintain traditional knowledge of the use of biodiversity resources for ethnic groups and local communities. d)Identify through a national and regional consultation process the capacity and need for the creation of a technical and scientific entity that can carry out the taxonomic investigations and other matters on biological diversity resources, for their conservation and sustainable use with a regional perspective. 2.Consultation workshop for the preparation of the Second National Report to the COP. 3.Support for the Clearing House Mechanism (CHM) set up 4.A country-driven CHM Project.
