International Conference on Mercury as a Global Pollutant and the Minamata Convention

The 16th International Conference on Mercury as a Global Pollutant (ICMGP) will be held in Cape Town, South Africa, from 21 to 26 July 2024. ICMGP started in 1990 as the largest scientific event on mercury, and immensely contributed to the development of the Minamata Convention. This session will present the programme of the 16th ICMGP, its input to the international policy including a set of synthesis papers, and discuss the importance of mercury science in implementing the Minamata Convention.
