Implementing trade related provisions of the Minamata Convention

The Conference of the Parties to the Minamata Convention on Mercury in November 2023 adopted decisions MC-5/2 on mercury supply sources and trade and MC-5/3 on study of the global supply, production, trade and use of mercury compounds. This session will: outline the basic mercury trade obligations in Article 3, give an update on current activities undertaken by the Secretariat to advance work called for in these two decisions and to make available relevant tools and training material; and explore ongoing efforts to facilitate the implementation of trade-related provisions both at bilateral and regional levels.
