Health concerns stemming from mercury exposure, particularly affecting groups in vulnerable situations in developing countries, including women and children are enshrined in the Convention’s preamble. The Secretariat is developing tangible pathways for stronger youth engagement within the Minamata Convention on Mercury framework, including promoting youth initiatives that are part of the solution to tackle toxic mercury.
