Programa Internacional Específico - Junta directiva

The Minamata Convention on Mercury, under Article 13, sets up a Specific International Programme to support capacity building and technical assistance. The Programme is expected to improve the capacity of developing-country Parties and Parties with economies in transition to implement their obligations under the Convention.

Governing Board of the Specific International Programme

The Governing Board of the Specific International Programme (SIP Governing Board) oversees and implements the guidance of the Conference of the Parties, including decision-making on SIP projects. At its first meeting, the SIP Governing Board adopted its Rules of Procedure to support its functioning and that of the SIP. The Governing Board allocates available funding to selected projects following the appraisal by the Secretariat of applications from eligible parties, using the criteria set at its first meeting.
