VANUATU BRINGS TO 99 THE NUMBER OF PARTIES TO THE MINAMATA CONVENTION

In line with the objectives of the Minamata Convention on Mercury, the building that is housing the offices of the Secretariat is transitioning to mercury-free lighting. 

The Minamata Convention Secretariat contributed online to the Capacity-building workshop: Implementation of biodiversity and chemicals and waste Multilateral Environmental Agreements (MEAs), organized by UNEP - Law Division. 

Government officials, industry managers, technical experts and UN officers met in Monterrey to kick off a project to stop mercury-based chlor-alkali production and clean up contaminated factories.
